On February 15, 2023, the Office of the Superintendent of Schools in the Archdiocese of New York announced that St. Francis Xavier School will merge with St. Clare of Assisi School at the end of the 2022-23 academic year. The newly-created school will be called St. Clare of Assisi-St. Francis Xavier School and be located at 1911 Hone Ave, Bronx, NY 10461.
